they have lepidolite pendants at the rock shop.  i am going to buy one tomorrow.   i am learning not to be ashamed of my "condition".  i asked a question about the mica and how it effects the strength of it as a stone...not mentioning it was related to my wanting to wear it for still only possible diagnosis of bipolar disorder (it all depends on which of my health providers you talk to).  after an awkward moment regarding why i was asking about the mica, i came right out and said i was buying because i may be bipolar (and then let us both deal with how society keeps that such an awkward conversation where if it had been a stone for my arthritis or high blood pressure, no one would have blinked an eye about "tmi").

later i asked her if anything ever came of tom starting a drumming group.  apparently people still come in asking about it all the time.  yay!  i once again gave a little "tmi", mentioning how i used the drum to help pam with her shoulder pain and also how i made sure i stayed in the hospital an extra day at natchaug for the drumming group.  "drumming is just that profoundly healing," i said.

she agreed.  so we have a list going in the shop now to start a loosely run drumming group.  nothing formal at this point, just see if people want to gather together and drum for a while.  i think with covid its hard to create a formal group right now, but its also a great time to get people together who can benefit from such a healing activity together.  if we all wear masks and sit 6 feet apart, there's no reason it can't work.  i'm sure many drumming groups are doing it this way.

i still have a dream of people gathering at the beach areas on my lake and doing a call and response drumming group across the water.  i think of a family event, people of all ages, moms and dads with little kids, elders, all types of folks coming together to experience the powerful, mystical, magical energy of drums.

i have to share the picture i just found on wikipedia commons of a shaman beginning a ceremony.  it fits with yesterday and a billion other things. i still have so much to say about the ceremony yesterday, but i'm needing time to take it all in.  pam smelled sage burning tonight...that alone is a story in itself, how the spirits used the sage burning to make us aware of their presence.  and now they are coming in and out of our day to make themselves known...thanking us mostly.
